This work without title by Aref El Rayess was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2011. It achieved a price of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,913.01), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. Admittedly, works by Aref El Rayess have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jeddah (Al Shatek el Hadi) (The Calm Shore) in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 137,000.00 (€ 127,548.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Aref El Rayess kam im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.913,01) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Aref El Rayess auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jeddah (Al Shatek el Hadi) (The Calm Shore) im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.000,00 (€ 127.548,65).
