Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work God I Want to Be Bad by Antony Micallef was auctioned at Phillips in London in September 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 250.00 (€ 273.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antony Micallef achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hobo Angel (Burger King) in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 36,552.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit God I Want to Be Bad von Antony Micallef im September 2009 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 250,00 (€ 273,48) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antony Micallef erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hobo Angel (Burger King) im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.900,00 (€ 36.552,54).
