Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Prison by Antonio Dias was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 161,000.00 (€ 152,433.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Dias - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Free Continent: Natural Richnesses, which sold at auction in November 2012 for USD 434,500.00 (€ 333,973.87).

Die Arbeit The Prison von Antonio Dias kam im November 2015 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 161.000,00 (€ 152.433,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Antonio Dias mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Free Continent: Natural Richnesses beobachtet, die im November 2012 für USD 434.500,00 (€ 333.973,87) versteigert wurde.
