This artwork by Antonio Dias achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2016. In the Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art auction, the work Mirage sold for USD 298,000.00 (€ 267,624.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Antonio Dias; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Free Continent: Natural Richnesses sold at auction in November 2012 with the realized price of USD 434,500.00 (€ 333,973.87).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Antonio Dias erzielte im Mai 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Mirage für USD 298.000,00 (€ 267.624,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Antonio Dias; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Free Continent: Natural Richnesses im November 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 434.500,00 (€ 333.973,87).
