Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Winsertor on the Messberg, Hamburg ( recto ); View of the city walls of Hamburg ( verso ) by Anthonie Waterloo was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2015. The price achieved of EUR 6,875.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anthonie Waterloo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Footbridge Over A Stream, With A Pollard Willow, which sold at auction in January 2015 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,357.84).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 6.875,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Anthonie Waterloo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Footbridge Over A Stream, With A Pollard Willow beobachtet, die im Januar 2015 für USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.357,84) versteigert wurde.
