The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,763.66), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anthonie Waterloo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Footbridge Over A Stream, With A Pollard Willow, which sold at auction in January 2015 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,357.84).

Die Arbeit The Sint Janspoort, Arnhem (recto); The outskirts of Arnhem (?) (verso) von Anthonie Waterloo wurde im Juli 2017 in der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.763,66) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Anthonie Waterloo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Footbridge Over A Stream, With A Pollard Willow beobachtet, die im Januar 2015 für USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.357,84) versteigert wurde.
