Auction result well in line with expectations
The work „Snow Drift, carved into, waiting for the Wind. Grise Fiord, Ellesmere Island, 12 April“. by Andy Goldsworthy was sold in the Sommerauktionen 2020 - Photographie auction at Grisebach in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 3,125.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Goldsworthy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work (i) British Museum (Stonework) (ii) Stonework in February 2005 with an auction result of GBP 28,800.00 (€ 41,763.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit „Snow Drift, carved into, waiting for the Wind. Grise Fiord, Ellesmere Island, 12 April“. von Andy Goldsworthy wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Sommerauktionen 2020 - Photographie bei Grisebach versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 3.125,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Goldsworthy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit (i) British Museum (Stonework) (ii) Stonework im Februar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.800,00 (€ 41.763,69).
