Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cold wind | work partly collapsed | difficult day | looty encouraging me on, Grise Fiord, Ellesmere Island 5 April 1989 by Andy Goldsworthy was sold in the Land, Sea, Sky: Online Auction auction at Phillips in an online auction in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,340.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Goldsworthy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work (i) British Museum (Stonework) (ii) Stonework in February 2005 with an auction result of GBP 28,800.00 (€ 41,763.69).
