Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gucci by Andreas Gursky was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 163,800.00 (€ 152,641.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andreas Gursky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 99 Cent Ii, Diptych in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,700,000.00 (€ 2,520,188.96).
