Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Weathered Wood' (Vallejo'S Home, Sonoma) by Alma Lavenson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,792.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alma Lavenson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 58,750.00 (€ 69,231.68).
