In April 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction Passion & Humanity: The Susie Tompkins Buell Collection, which included the work Easter Lily by Alma Lavenson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,043.75), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alma Lavenson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-Portrait in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 58,750.00 (€ 69,231.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im April 2019 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Passion & Humanity: The Susie Tompkins Buell Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Easter Lily von Alma Lavenson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.043,75) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alma Lavenson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-Portrait im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 58.750,00 (€ 69.231,68).
