Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alma Lavenson could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Classic Photographs auction, the work 'Burnt-Out House' changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,602.87) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alma Lavenson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 58,750.00 (€ 69,231.68).
