Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work William Seward Burroughs at Kitchen Table New York by Allen Ginsberg. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,173.45), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Allen Ginsberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected images of Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs, Neal Cassady and Peter Orlovsky, 1953-1957 in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 27,598.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit William Seward Burroughs at Kitchen Table New York von Allen Ginsberg zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.173,45) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Allen Ginsberg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected images of Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs, Neal Cassady and Peter Orlovsky, 1953-1957 im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 27.598,17).
