Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Web by Allan D'Arcangelo was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 700.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 382.50 (€ 360.78). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Allan D'Arcangelo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work U.S. Highway I, No. 4 in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 802,600.00 (€ 515,809.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Web von Allan D'Arcangelo im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 382,50 (€ 360,78) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Allan D'Arcangelo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit U.S. Highway I, No. 4 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 802.600,00 (€ 515.809,77).
