This artwork by Alicia Penalba achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Morning Session auction, the work Oiseau lunaire sold for USD 73,080.00 (€ 64,747.05) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alicia Penalba; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ventisquero sold at auction in March this year with the realized price of USD 107,100.00 (€ 98,509.93).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alicia Penalba erzielte im November 2021 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Oiseau lunaire für USD 73.080,00 (€ 64.747,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alicia Penalba; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ventisquero im März diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 98.509,93).
