This artwork by Alicia Penalba achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2021. In the Impressionist & Modern Art auction, the work Faune des mers sold for USD 37,800.00 (€ 31,904.12) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alicia Penalba - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ventisquero, which sold at auction in March this year for USD 107,100.00 (€ 98,509.93).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alicia Penalba erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Faune des mers für USD 37.800,00 (€ 31.904,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alicia Penalba mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ventisquero beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 107.100,00 (€ 98.509,93) versteigert wurde.
