In May 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Tropique by Alicia Penalba. The »bidding war« ended at USD 27,500.00 (€ 22,552.07), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alicia Penalba have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ventisquero in March this year with an auction result of USD 107,100.00 (€ 98,509.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tropique von Alicia Penalba zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 22.552,07) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alicia Penalba auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ventisquero im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 98.509,93).
