Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life with Fruit by Alice Neel was auctioned at Christies in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 441,000.00 (€ 413,929.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alice Neel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dr. Finger’S Waiting Room in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,030,000.00 (€ 2,484,828.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Still Life with Fruit von Alice Neel kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 441.000,00 (€ 413.929,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alice Neel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dr. Finger’S Waiting Room im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.030.000,00 (€ 2.484.828,60).
