Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work La Machine de Marly et le barrage, Bougival by Alfred Sisley was auctioned at Christies in London in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 189,000.00 (€ 215,024.01). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Sisley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Effet De Neige À Louveciennes in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 7,358,750.00 (€ 8,623,728.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit La Machine de Marly et le barrage, Bougival von Alfred Sisley im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 189.000,00 (€ 215.024,01) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Sisley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Effet De Neige À Louveciennes im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.358.750,00 (€ 8.623.728,62).
