Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Alfred Leslie was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,566.83). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Leslie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diana in April last year with an auction result of EUR 264,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Alfred Leslie im September 2016 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.566,83) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Leslie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diana im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 264.600,00.
