Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Traffic On The River, Thought To Be At Hull by Alfred H. Vickers was sold in the Maritime Pictures auction at Christies in London in May 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,152.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred H. Vickers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The ferry, which sold at auction in May 2003 for GBP 4,935.00 (€ 6,875.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Traffic On The River, Thought To Be At Hull von Alfred H. Vickers wurde im Mai 2006 in der Auktion Maritime Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.152,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred H. Vickers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The ferry beobachtet, die im Mai 2003 für GBP 4.935,00 (€ 6.875,70) versteigert wurde.
