Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2003 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work A Family fishing by the River by Alfred H. Vickers. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,553.50 (€ 941.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfred H. Vickers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The ferry in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 6,875.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Family fishing by the River von Alfred H. Vickers zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.553,50 (€ 941,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred H. Vickers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The ferry im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.935,00 (€ 6.875,70).
