Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work An extensive estuary landscape by Alfred H. Vickers. It changed hands for a price of GBP 780.00 (€ 1,151.52) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred H. Vickers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The ferry in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 6,875.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit An extensive estuary landscape von Alfred H. Vickers zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 780,00 (€ 1.151,52) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred H. Vickers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The ferry im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.935,00 (€ 6.875,70).
