The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,292.50 (€ 2,112.90), 29% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred H. Vickers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The ferry, which sold at auction in May 2003 for GBP 4,935.00 (€ 6,875.70).

Die Arbeit Figures on a track in a wooded landscape; and A figure on a riverside path von Alfred H. Vickers wurde im März 2002 in der Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.292,50 (€ 2.112,90) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred H. Vickers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The ferry beobachtet, die im Mai 2003 für GBP 4.935,00 (€ 6.875,70) versteigert wurde.
