It achieved a price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,625.28), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34%. Admittedly, works by Alexander Nasmyth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 72,000.00 (€ 106,178.24).

Die Arbeit View Of The Highlands von Alexander Nasmyth wurde im August 2008 in der Auktion Scottish & Sporting Pictures bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 11.625,28) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander Nasmyth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 72.000,00 (€ 106.178,24).
