The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 13,732.31) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alexander Nasmyth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 72,000.00 (€ 106,178.24).
