Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work View Of The Hill Of Kinnoul, Perthshire by Alexander Nasmyth. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,513.62) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Nasmyth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 72,000.00 (€ 106,178.24).
