Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian, which included the work A View Of St. Anthony'S Chapel And Arthur'S Seat, Near Edinburgh by Alexander Nasmyth. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,183.89) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alexander Nasmyth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 72,000.00 (€ 106,178.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian durch, in der auch die Arbeit A View Of St. Anthony'S Chapel And Arthur'S Seat, Near Edinburgh von Alexander Nasmyth zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.183,89) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander Nasmyth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 72.000,00 (€ 106.178,24).
