Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian, which included the work A View Of Newbattle Abbey From The Park by Alexander Nasmyth. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,789.26) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Nasmyth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 72,000.00 (€ 106,178.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian durch, in der auch die Arbeit A View Of Newbattle Abbey From The Park von Alexander Nasmyth zur Versteigerung kam.
