Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters including Old Master & British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work Ponte Molle, Near Rome by Alexander Nasmyth. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,657.40). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Nasmyth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 72,000.00 (€ 106,178.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters including Old Master & British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ponte Molle, Near Rome von Alexander Nasmyth zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.657,40) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Nasmyth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 72.000,00 (€ 106.178,24).
