However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Nasmyth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground, which sold at auction in October 2005 for GBP 72,000.00 (€ 106,178.24).
