The auction ended at the price of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,748.59), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alexander Nasmyth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 72,000.00 (€ 106,178.24).
