Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 3:32 pm, Coldwater Canyon and Eye #5 (Automobile Accident) from Compulsion by Alex Prager was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,860.00 (€ 13,952.08). Admittedly, works by Alex Prager have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Crowd #2 (Emma) in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,192.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 3:32 pm, Coldwater Canyon and Eye #5 (Automobile Accident) from Compulsion von Alex Prager im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.860,00 (€ 13.952,08) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alex Prager auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Crowd #2 (Emma) im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.192,26).
