Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Despair, Film Still #4 by Alex Prager was auctioned at Phillips in 7 - in December this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,905.00 (€ 1,722.11). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alex Prager achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Crowd #2 (Emma) in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,192.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Despair, Film Still #4 von Alex Prager im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 7 - versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.905,00 (€ 1.722,11) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alex Prager erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Crowd #2 (Emma) im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.192,26).
