Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alex Gardner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in March last year. In the New Now auction, the work The Horrors of Downward Mobility sold for USD 107,100.00 (€ 96,547.37) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alex Gardner; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Chair #2 sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of USD 214,200.00 (€ 180,790.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alex Gardner erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit The Horrors of Downward Mobility für USD 107.100,00 (€ 96.547,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alex Gardner; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Chair #2 im Juni 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 180.790,01).
