The work S.I. by Afrika was sold in the Contemporary Art Day auction at Phillips in London in February 2009. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,456.01), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Afrika have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Malevich! in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,473.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit S.I. von Afrika wurde im Februar 2009 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day bei Phillips in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.456,01) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Afrika auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Malevich! im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.473,92).
