Auction result misses estimated price range
In November last year a collector was able to acquire the work Story of My Father by Afrika for USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,235.11). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary Art at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Afrika achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Malevich! in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,473.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Story of My Father von Afrika für USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.235,11) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Afrika erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Malevich! im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.473,92).
