Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Afrika could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Russian Pictures Including Post-War and Contemporary Art Part II auction, the work Soviet banner no. 4 changed hands for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,068.06) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Afrika have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Malevich! in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,473.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Afrika konnte im November 2008 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Russian Pictures Including Post-War and Contemporary Art Part II wechselte die Arbeit Soviet banner no. 4 für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.068,06) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Afrika auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Malevich! im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.473,92).
