Auction result misses estimated price range
In March this year a collector was able to acquire the work Anufriev Was, Anufriev Is, Anufriev Will Be, A Double-Sided Portrait 20 1/4 x 11 3/4 in. (51.4 x 29.8 cm) unframed by Afrika for USD 408.00 (€ 375.28). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary Art | Bonhams Skinner at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of USD 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Afrika achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Malevich! in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,473.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Anufriev Was, Anufriev Is, Anufriev Will Be, A Double-Sided Portrait 20 1/4 x 11 3/4 in. (51.4 x 29.8 cm) unframed von Afrika für USD 408,00 (€ 375,28) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Afrika erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Malevich! im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.473,92).
