Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Afrika could be acquired at Bonhams in March this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary Art | Bonhams Skinner auction, the work Anufriev Does Exist... sight size 15 1/4 x 30 3/4 in. (38.7 x 78.1 cm) framed 22 1/2 x 38 x 1 in. changed hands for USD 280.50 (€ 258.00) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Afrika achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Malevich! in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,473.92).
