Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The confession by Adolf Seel was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2000. The price achieved of NLG 11,702.00 (€ 5,616.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adolf Seel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nacht Wache in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 372,500.00 (€ 328,715.14).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 11.702,00 (€ 5.616,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adolf Seel erzielen.
