The work At a well in a sunlit courtyard by Adolf Seel was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2016. It achieved a price of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,864.50), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 52%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adolf Seel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nacht Wache in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 372,500.00 (€ 328,715.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 52 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit At a well in a sunlit courtyard von Adolf Seel kam im Mai 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 13.864,50) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 52%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adolf Seel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nacht Wache im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 372.500,00 (€ 328.715,14).
