The work In the Courtyard of the Alhambra by Adolf Seel was worth GBP 239,400.00 (€ 283,624.34) to a buyer in October 2021. This price was achieved in the auction The Orientalist Sale at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Adolf Seel; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Nacht Wache sold at auction in October 2018 with the realized price of USD 372,500.00 (€ 328,715.14).
