Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2008 Christies in London held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Editions, which included the work Self-Portrait by Adam Neate. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,531.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adam Neate achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Suicide Bomber in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 78,500.00 (€ 106,668.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self-Portrait von Adam Neate zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.531,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adam Neate erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Suicide Bomber im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 78.500,00 (€ 106.668,18).
