Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Wine Drinker by Adam Neate was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 27,720.00 (€ 3,004.71). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adam Neate achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Suicide Bomber in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 78,500.00 (€ 106,668.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Wine Drinker von Adam Neate im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 27.720,00 (€ 3.004,71) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adam Neate erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Suicide Bomber im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 78.500,00 (€ 106.668,18).
