Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Adam McEwen could be acquired at Christies in New York in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 7,560.00 (€ 7,095.93) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adam McEwen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Oasis Water Fountain in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 437,000.00 (€ 320,381.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Adam McEwen konnte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 7.560,00 (€ 7.095,93) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adam McEwen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Oasis Water Fountain im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 437.000,00 (€ 320.381,23).
