ZHEN CHEN (1955-2000) Un-Interrupted Voice found chairs, skin, wood and rope smallest element: 14 x 3 x 3 in. (35.6 x 7.6 x 7.6 cm.) largest element: 39 x 18 x 18 in. (99 x 45.7 x 45.7 cm.) installed: 53 x 44 1 ⁄ 2 x 14 in. (132 x 113 x 35.6 cm.) Executed in 1998. This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

In July last year Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Un-Interrupted Voice by Chen Zhen. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,400.00 (€ 49,402.08), 44% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Chen Zhen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Opening Of A Closed Center in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 576,000.00 (€ 428,157.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 44 % übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Un-Interrupted Voice von Chen Zhen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 49.402,08) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Zhen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Opening Of A Closed Center im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 576.000,00 (€ 428.157,29).
