Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work The Writing/The Number by Chen Zhen. The price achieved of USD 60,480.00 (€ 52,241.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chen Zhen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Opening Of A Closed Center in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 576,000.00 (€ 428,157.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Writing/The Number von Chen Zhen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 60.480,00 (€ 52.241,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Zhen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Opening Of A Closed Center im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 576.000,00 (€ 428.157,29).
