In April 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Elephant Trunk Hill by Zhang Kunyi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 237,500.00 (€ 25,060.05), 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Kunyi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mice And Turnip, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 75,667.50).

Im April 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Elephant Trunk Hill von Zhang Kunyi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 237.500,00 (€ 25.060,05) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Kunyi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mice And Turnip beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 75.667,50) versteigert wurde.
