Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Chinese Art, which included the work Shitao (Album) - Van Gogh #4 by Zhang Hongtu. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 280,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 30,515.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Zhang Hongtu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shen Zhou - Van Gogh #2 in May 2007 with an auction result of HKD 1,440,000.00 (€ 137,117.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Chinese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shitao (Album) - Van Gogh #4 von Zhang Hongtu zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 280.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 30.515,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Hongtu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shen Zhou - Van Gogh #2 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.440.000,00 (€ 137.117,37).
